Yes, we know it is in Cambodia not Thailand. So, why have we included it on a Thailand travel website? If Angkor Wat is on your bucket list then you might want to plan a two day trip over to Siem Reap to check it out. Air Asia has flights from Don Mueng Airport (DMK) in Bangkok to Siem Reap (REP) for about $32 USD. When you go, go a day early so you can wake up to see the sunrise over the main temple complex. If you don’t you will regret it for sure. You can see all the temples in one day and get back on a plane for Thailand that night. You will sleep well that night I promise you. Book your flight from Bangkok in to Siem Reap for the late afternoon and book the flight out at night the next day.

Pro Tip: Hire a Tuk Tuk Driver from the Airport for the Entire 2 Days

When you get to the airport go ahead an hire a Tuk Tuk driver for the whole two days. They are fantastic guides of the city and the per day fare is set by the Government. They will know where to go to get the tickets in the morning as well which can be tricky. We don’t recommend doing it without a guide. Once you are at Angor Wat, just before you get to the Naga Foot Bridge, you will be able to hire a guide for the Temple itself. These guides are definitely worth every dime spent. They can bring the history alive for you for sure. They have good tips for pictures as well.
