If you own a superyacht and want to explore Southeast Asia then chances are you will call Phuket your home port. The island is the biggest in Thailand and it has its own airport that makes it super convenient to get to. Phuket is also home to the world famous (or maybe infamous) Bangla Road walking street on Patong Beach. Just south of Patong Beach is Kata Beach which has a very good break for beginner surfers.
Also, If you can’t make it to Kanchanaburi there is a very good Elephant Sanctuary in Phuket. You will get to swim with the Elephants here as well. Oh course, like any big city in Thailand you will find good night markets and cafes all over the island.

When in Thailand, you may want a hotel that will put you in the Southern Thai Island mood. The Burasari Hotel in Patong Beach in the southern part of Phuket Island is certainly that kind of hotel. A really cool thing about the Burasari is the privacy each room has and the, swim up to your room, pool. The Burasari is in a quieter part of Patong Beach but it is still walking distance from Patong Walking Street where are the action, and I do mean action, is found.
Staying on Patong Beach you will find our budget pick hotel/hostel, but if you are looking to socialize and meet people from around the world, this is the place to be. The location couldn’t be better as it is near a little bustling night market just a short walk to the beach. The great thing about this hotel is that the pool area is a gathering point for many activities like pub crawls. You can always find people to hang out with at their pool at happy hour.
Just a little bit south of Patong is Kata Beach. If you want to learn to surf the only place we have found that is better than Kata Beach is Hawaii. Kata is just a little bit quieter the Patong, but with lots of things to do, including a Surf Rider Machine incase the waves are a bit flat.
